This literature review contained a brief overview of the technologies and software that have been created to prevent and mitigate driver distraction in order to identify products that are available to consumers. Zoomsafer, DriveSafe.ly, Dial2Do are apps that can both suppress incoming texts and e-mails and read them aloud to the driver. Results of the review indicated that such apps offer a degree of control and security and suggest increased safety for drivers, passengers, and pedestrians. Moving forward, these technologies still require research and evaluation of their effectiveness as they are still new methods of prevention.
